LUGRadio Live 2009
Jono Bacon has announcedthat LUGRadio Live 2009 is happening and the basic website is now up and available. So for all that have not heard about LUGRadio Live before, let me give you a brief overview.
LUGRadio Live was a spin-off of the successful LUGRadio podcast, the guys decided that there was no decent open source conferences in the UK so decided to setup their own. The conference is in its fourth year, even though the podcast has finished. LUGRadio Live is described as a “rock conference”, everything is light-hearted and easy going but it attracts some big speakers right across the open source community.
If it sounds interesting, checkout the website, register your interest on Upcoming or Facebook, and follow the Twitter or Identi.ca users.
Open Source City
Peter pointed out on the ManLUG mailing list that Liverpool will play host to a “micro-festival” on open source software in media production. The Open Source City festival is running from the 17th – 22nd of June at Mello Mello and various other sites across the city centre. This event has twigged interest from me due to the presentation on open source software from a speaker on IP from the Green Party, i’ve always known that the greens are very pro-open source but i’ve never heard it “from the horses mouth”.
So, my name is down and it’s booked into my calendar. Drop me a message if your also visiting.
LUGRadio Live 2007
While I maybe posting a tad late about this event, its just less than a week away. I thought I wouldn’t be attending but then a offer of a lift to the event popped up on the LivLUG mailing list.
So, what is going on? LRL started out as a community meetup for the listeners of LugRadio, but over the years its turned into a generic semi-conference for Linux users and projects, with the addition of a Live episode of LugRadio recorded during the conference.
Alot of the Ubuntu UK LoCo team are attending, so I grabbed the chance to head on down there and actually meet some of these people I see warbling on #ubuntu-uk, Also its a good chance to get my GPG key signed.
I’ll post a better run down after the event, hopefully with a few pictures as well.
